PURPOSE

The Sharon Hall Scholarship Fund was established in 1988 to affirm and support the youth of Michigan Park Christian Church (MPCC) as they pursue and continue undergraduate studies at an accredited institution.

ELIGIBILITY

Any youth member of MPCC is eligible to apply for the Sharon Hall Scholarship provided the following criteria are met:

  • A member of MPCC for a minimum of one year;

  • Actively serving MPCC in capacities such as acolyte, choir member, member of

    the Diaconate, nursery attendant, Sunday school, children’s church, vacation

    Bible school teaching aid, youth activities assistant, choir member, etc;

  • High school senior, recent high school graduate, or undergraduate college student;

  • Expecting to attend an accredited college, university, vocational, or trade school;

  • Update the scholarship committee on your college experience.

    RESTRICTIONS

    Scholarship funds must be applied only to tuition, books, fees, or other related expenses. In the event that a recipient receives funds and decides not to attend an accredited institution, then the applicant must return the funds to the scholarship committee.

    AMOUNT OF INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

    The current amount for the Sharon Hall Scholarship is $600.00. In the event that the balance of the fund is insufficient to permit awards of that amount, then the available balance will be equally shared by eligible applicants.

    FINANCING OF THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

    The fund will continue to be financed from contributions and income received from revenue generated from activates such as concerts, dinners, etc. Donations will also be collected to support the scholarship fund.

    YEARLY REQUIREMENTS OF INITIAL OR CONTINUING APPLICANTS

    Each applicant must complete the following requirements:

  • Complete the Sharon Hall Application form based on your current status and

    submit to the church office by the due date (initial applicant or continuing

    applicant);

  • Provide a copy of your acceptance letter into a university, college, trade, or vocational school(initial applicant);

  • Sign the Formal Statement of Intent document (continuing applicant).
